The Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB) will be hosting their biannual Business Bash on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor study lounge of the Hawthorne College of Business.
Barbara Sagara, an advisor for the SLAB, said that the event will be a great way for students to network with different registered student organizations and other students.
?In business, a big part of getting ahead is who you know,? Sagara said.
Eight hundred students attended last year?s event, and just as many if not more are expected to attend this time.? Some faculty from the College of Business will attend as well, but according to Sagara, it?s mostly for the students.
There are 16 different RSOs attending, each with their own station that students can visit and speak with representatives about their function and how to be involved.? Organizations in attendance will include the Entrepreneur Club, the Financial Management Association and the Global Business Students Association.
Students are also encouraged to network with each other to build relationships that can last long after they are done with school.
According to Sagara, the Career Center and Communication Center will also have their open hours the same day, and students are encouraged to come in and speak with advisors.
SLAP will be providing refreshments at the Business Bash, such as doughnuts and pizza from Domino?s, giving more incentive to students to participate in the opportunities provided at the event.
Any students with more questions are encouraged to contact the Hawthorne College of Business at 269-387-5050.? They can also contact the Career Center at the College of Business number or 269-387-2711 for advising information.? The Communication Center can be reach at 269-387-6414.
