Are you stuck in terms of your next steps to grow your career? There is an easy answer! Whether you want to take your career to the next level, find a new career, or start a business, look no further.
The ?One Page Business Plan? developed by Jim Horan, is the system I use and recommend to my clients. It?s possible to have your plan completed in an hour, in a fun, pain-free process. In fact, I encourage you to set a timer for 60 minutes and simply let it flow.
These are the 5 parts to the plan (adapt it to fit your needs):
1. Vision: What are you building? What?s the impact you want to have?
2. Mission: Why does this business/nonprofit exist?
3. The Objectives: What will be measured? What accomplishments would you like to celebrate? Be sure to include the nuts and bolts, such as revenue generated.
4. The Strategies: How will this business/nonprofit be built?
5. The Action Plan: What is the work to be done?
Of course, after you create your ?One Page Plan?, you will need to polish it and most importantly, implement it. I invite you to place the work to be done on your calendar and set alarms for recurring tasks on your smartphone. Remember that the one-page business plan is designed to be a powerful, living document and that may involve changes as new insights evolve. Nonetheless, the very process of walking through it will help you get clear about your plan and how you can turn it into a reality and most importantly, have fun in the process! Your great work is meant to be a contribution to the world, and this is a simple process that will get you one step closer to your goal of creating your ideal work vision.
